m3 vs i5? 8 GB vs 16 GB?

How much better is the i5 going to be than the m3? Any clues?

How important is 16GB? It delays shipment by a week.
 
depends what you're going to use it for. Honestly, for the majority of cases, 16gb is overkill for this machine as you're not exactly going to run multiple VM's and editing 4K video...
The i5 in the past has given the best battery life although the difference isn't huge by any measure
