hi all, i'm pretty new to the mac thing after using windows for the last 10-12 years.

i hope this is in the right forum for this sort of query.

i just want a handy way of producing an .m3u playlist file for a given directory. In XP, i used a batch file that printed the filenames of .mp3 files in a directory to a txt document.

i can't find an easy way of doing this, though i am sure that there will be as os x seems to have everything else covered(!)

Thanks in anticipation,

kram. :)

are you sure nobody knows how this is done?

kram :D

Do you use iTunes? iTunes can export song lists or playlists as M3U files.

Thanks for the reply - I do use iTunes, and i sort of knew you could do that.

thing is, i have my MP3s in folders according to Album. So there's like 20 mp3 files that need to go into their own m3u playlist - creating a playlist in iTunes for each album just isn't practicable.

Thanks again for your help, though!
