I’m surprised I don’t see this on here because I believe it’s been raised by others.

Using the two thunderbolt USB-C ports, hooking up an external monitor to one of those and then another to the other one works fine if you keep the lid open on the computer itself. When you close it, one of the monitors freezes up you cannot point the mouse to it.

I’ve tried everything imaginable in terms of checking connections, switching components around, updating software and so on. After consulting other post and using AI, it’s clear that this is a software glitch because the M4 is new and the problem can be isolated to some sort of software display switching problem.

My question is whether or not Apple intends to do anything about it and what we can do to make sure they’re aware of the problem. Any suggestions or any anyone else? Wanna collaborate on getting this message to them?

M4 MBA still under AppleCare? Have your MBA repaired. Don’t believe it hardware problem? Clean install different version of macOS Sequoia using Apple Configurator starting with 15.3.2. Narrow issue down to version of Sequoia if possible. Perhaps 15.3.2 and up effected. Perhaps not. If not, you can stick with version which work until such time you brave enough to update.

I assume somewhere along the way they’ll address this and a simple routine system update will take care of it without having to reinstall Sequoia, correct?

Not if just your system. How you know not hardware problem with just your system? I would troubleshoot best you can as your MBA under warranty and can be repaired if necessary.

I know I am in a completely different scenario, I use clamshell with the Studio display and a floated iPad13 with no issues on an M4 Pro. I only have the one USB-C cable running from the M4 to the studio and the Apple keyboard and touchpad plugged into the studio.

Apple may not be aware of the issue. I would recommend calling Apple Support and getting a ticket started.
