I got both the 11 inch and 13 inch M4 iPad Pros on release but only used the 11 inch this week (I got it for my wife, she uses it) and noticed the sound is god awful. It sounds hollow and almost like it's playing music submerged under water.

I've never had a phone or iPad or even laptop sound like this. My 13 inch sound is actually pretty decent.

Does anyone know anything about this or how to fix it?

Return it. There’s no way it should sound terrible. I guess everything is subjective, but even my iPad Air without the fancy speakers doesn’t sound like it’s playing music underwater. It’s possible you got one with defective speakers.

Thank you for saying this. The audio on the new iPP M4 is actually better for me than the previous gen iPP because it has a flat EQ meaning richer audio (lows, mids, highs, instrumental separation etc) at the expense of bass/treble which most people generally prefer. They most likely changed the EQ due to the increased thinness.
