I've recently bought the M4 Air when the price dropped. After watching YouTube review videos to where a common complaint was the old screen technology I wasn't expecting much from it. However, I set the Color profile to Generic RGB and this screen has more "pop" than my OLED Tab S10 Plus!! I had almost wished that I would have spent the extra on the Mac Book Pro until I changed that 1 setting. Now, of course color accuracy is off but it looks nice watching Apple TV+.

Better picture for Mac Air. The first picture had the Mac sitting way behind the Tab. This picture shows lighter than what I see. In person it is deeper even.

Don't do that. The Air has got a DCI-P3 display, and it ships with a profile for its internal monitor.

Selected the Generic RGB will make it think it has got a RGB display, with a lower color gamut, so in the end everything will be oversaturated because it will display Generic RGB colors on a DCI-P3, and color fidelity will jump right out of the window into a deep well.

Obviously, if you like wrong and oversaturated color, do whatever you want, it's your computer.

RGB looks much better than the default profile. At the end that all that matters.
