Weird problem, sometimes when I'm idle a bit and I move my mouse to resume (Mac is still awake) the Mini goes to sleep and I have to re-log in. Happens sporadically no pattern. Logitech mouse M650L.
Any thoughts?

Any chance you have a Hot Corner set for sleep/screen saver and when moving the mouse you accidentally trigger it?

Damn that's exactly what it is, but I never set one up. I don't even know where that setting would be. (new to Mac)
Edit: Never mind I found the setting. I never set it up which was the funny thing.
Thank you so much!

Go to System Settings (Apple Menu) > Desktop & Dock > all the way at the bottom Hot Corners. Alternatively just search for Hot Corners in the System Settings.

Funny, I've had an odd problem that might be related. First: yes, the hot corners can be problematic. I use it, but it is often quite annoying. For example (on my 2018 Mini) my hot corner is on the bottom right, but I can have the mouse pointer near the top left on my 32 inch screen and if I bump the mouse in that direction, the display goes to sleep. I guess this is the effect of inertia (acceleration?) and I think there's even an accessibility setting to disable that. I just deal with it, but it happens frequently.

On my new m4 Mini, I have turned off the hot corners. However, a sudden mouse movement can completely black out the computer. It sure acts like it has crashed. Definitely not just a display sleep because none of the usual things wake it up (mouse click, keypress, etc). I have this machine set to never sleep, and it doesn't seem to be that anyway because a tap of the power button has no effect. I have to press/hold the power button to force a reboot.

This has happened at least 3 times in the 3 months I've had the m4. My solution is just to be very careful not to suddenly bump the mouse! This machine is really a plain vanilla system used as a media server for my Apple TV's with the builtin sharing features.

Thanks for this, I turned all of mine to off, null, nothing.
I notice there is also a Dwell settings for the corners, and applied same to those settings as well.
