My first favorite computer was the M1 Air. Then it was the M1 Pro 16" MBP. Now it's the M4 Mac Mini.

Why?

1. I got it for $500. Ridiculously good value.

2. M4 has been a bigger upgrade from my m1 Pro than I anticipated.

3. Has all the ports I need

4. Freaking $500

Mac teams have been killing it since 2020.

It is a nice machine for sure. I bought one for my dad to replace his 2010 iMac and I liked it so much I bought one for myself.

Yeah. And it costs $500 if you forgot to mention. 😂

Yeah, IMO it's hard to go wrong with Mac hardware these since the M1's launched. Ports are back, battery life is insane, prices have held steady or dropped (even with inflation), and even 5 year old M1s are holding their own quite well.

There were some dark years around the tail end of the Ive era, though. I held out for years buying a new MacBook until they stopped making that pos butterfly keyboard. Glad they're on the other side.

In your Sig. Bilbo had it right. I feel that way most of the time.
