I don’t normally sell my old computers. However, I am considering picking up a base M4 Mac Mini to tide me over until the release of the M4 Mac Studio. I am currently using a 2019 i9 Mac Book Pro with 32GB RAM and a 1TB drive. Sadly, I bought it three months before the switch to Apple Silicon. To be honest, the MBP is still fast enough for almost everything. The only problem is that a couple of DJ/audio apps require a M-processor for certain features.

As 16GB RAM is the minimum requirement for the audio software that I use, storage and memory could be tight on the Mini. I do have a TB4 external SSD, though. So, if I buy the base M4 Mini and sell it after 8 months, roughly how much would it lose in value? In the UK, the base Mini costs £600.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

How much would you pay for a used 8 month old M4 base config mini, not eligible for Apple Care+, when new unboxed or refurb ones are still avail from retailers? $450-500 US, maybe?

Thanks for the reply. I see that the mini is the same price in US dollars and UK pounds. If I could get £300 back, half the buying price, I’d be OK with it.

It’s a brand new model so a bit hard to guess but I’d expect to get at least half of the investment back when selling a few months later.
