is there any program for mac that can convert m4a files to mp3? i've tried version tracker but couldn't find anything. if i really need to i can transfer the files over to a windows pc and do it there, but i'd rather find something on mac that'll do it. thanks a lot!

iTunes...?

Just set iTunes preferences -> Import to mp3 of the desired quality, then hit Advanced -> Convert Selection ...

Unless you're speaking of protected aacs... in which case you're on your own...

Old thread, but still very useful. I too looked for a converter for Mac for ages and stumbled across your forum. It just goes to show how invaluable forums like this are and continue to be. I was just about to buy a converter when there was absolutely no need.

Ta very much indeed, its appreciated ;)
