I'm trying to make a dvd and one of the video files is 1 gb, but when I import it to idvd its over 2gb....it doesnt make any sense. Anyway, what can I do to shrink it's size in iDVD.

Also, what Video mode is best? PAL or NTSC? What is the difference? Thanks

to shrink the size of the file in IDVD go to Project info, and under encoding choose professional quality this will shrink the file by a little bit.

DVD discs are encoded as mpeg2, regardless of the original file. PAL or NTSC are just TV standards, so it depends on what dvd player you'll be using it in.

PAL is typically Europe, AUstralia, NZ, runs at 50HZ at a resolution of 576 horizontal lines.

NTSC is North AMerican, Japan, 60Hz at a resolution of 480 horizontal lines.
