sometimes it seems like my current MacBook Air M1(2020) is on its last legs - lots of spinning beachballs, apps quitting for no reason, and this latest goofy problem which no one seems to be able to fix - I also asked on the official Apple Support forum and got no useful answer

So I have been thinking I will upgrade to an M5 MacBook Air or M5 Mac Mini as soon as they become available.

I was figuring that a well-appointed M5 MacBook Air or M5 Mac Mini would cost about $1500.

But lately, I have been feeling like the wait is too much, since I feel like I'm spending a lot of time watching beachballs.

It occurs to me: the new M5 MacBook PRO is currently available. That would set me back around $2000, but it has a lot more power than the Air AND it's available now, so no waiting. I don't necessarily need that extra power, but I am sure that there are occasions when it will come in handy, and it would be good to have something new before the end of the year ...

thoughts? responses? does this logic make sense? The $500 or so isn't wasted, since it is buying increased power, and I don't need to wait 3-4-5 months for products that haven't even been officially announced yet.

Thanks ! grateful for feedback!

Have a M1 MBA running Sequoia and it runs smooth as butter. Sounds like a software issue. Create another user account, login and see if the beachballing continues. You can always run Apple Diagnostics.. perhaps it is a hardware issue
