So, I've recently joined the ranks of mac users with this hand-me-down 2017 air that I was given by a friend.
Now I'm a veritable force when it comes to the other side of the fence, but this stuff is incredibly different and I made a horrible choice upon receiving it.
Thinking nothing of it, I loaded a Manjaro pen into the usb port launched and wiped the drive with gparted, formatted to ext4, and then loaded manjaro on there. The install went fine everything was looking up and up.
Upon rebooting I noticed the light was off on the charger, and it was NOT charging... Since then I've done countless things to try and redeem myself in the eyes of the apple hardware that I've spat in the eyes of but to no avail... Anyone familiar with how this might have thrown the SMC off? I can still start the machine... I just have to plug it in while previously holding the power button, and then let go after 3 seconds or so. It boots in kernel panic, or something like that with the high fans... Doesn't recognize the good battery in it and all that jazz.
THank you in advance!!! I greatly appreciate it.
