Through some problems with mobile me I have ended up with 3 versions of my address book, on mobile me, iPhone and my MacBook. Spent all day trying to resolve it with tech support but still struggling.

With help of support we merged the contacts on mobile me and iPhone. Then the problem came with merging that data with address book on my Mac. When you import the back up it replaces the data rather than merging it. I know that merging will mean that I end up with duplicate entries but I would rather have all the data on my computer so that I can manually go through it all to organize it and then force a sync to mobile me.

Support suggested using vcards as a way of merging the data. So as I already had a back up of my MacBook address book I then synced to mobile me which meant my address book now had the merged data from my iPhone and MobileMe. I then exported that to an abbu file and also to vcards. I have back up versions of all the data from each source as abbu files, group vcards and individual vcards. I want to import all of it into my MacBook address book so that I can edit and create a master copy. I actually want the duplicates so that I can review all the data. The problem is that trying to import a group vcard causes it to crash. When I try and add individual vcards, even though I select the option to keep both cards, it merges duplicate cards which I don't want it to do.

Hope all that makes sense! Also hope someone can come up with a solution!
Thanks :)
