Mac air not starting after SMC reset.

Hi, need your help over here. Earlier, my MAC was not starting after SMC reset or NVRAM or PRAM reset. The charger light was green. Nothing was happening on SMC reset. Battery Status was Service Required. But due to covid-19 lockdown in India, I cant take it to an apple store for another 10 days. MAC Air, 2015 model.

I left the Mac as it is. Today, after 6 days, randomly, I plugged it in and the charger light was Amber. So I tried SMC reset again and the light color changed to green for a moment and again changed to amber. But it still didnt turn on.

my query is: 1) By today’s events, does it mean SMC reset is working?
2) are there any troubleshooting steps I can do to make it start?
3) What could be the problem as per you?

Would request your help. Thanks.

I would remove all power and let it sit. Open the bottom case if you have the tool, and disconnect the battery. If you can’t, just let it sit again. Then try to start it normally.

Okay thanks. Will do that. Will leave it without power for a day and will try then. I can’t open it at the moments due to unavailability of tools.

1) yes, the change in the magsafe led means SMC rest worked.

2) disconnect the battery, connect the charger, don't touch any keys, see if the MacBook powers up on its own.

3) could be a dead battery is preventing it from powering up.
