I have a mac air 2013(i7/8gb). For some reason, when I play videos from vlc player or MplayerX or even youtube, after like 5-15 minutes or so, at one point, the audio will sync incorrectly with the video. What happens is that part of the audio repeats itself so that the audio timing will be slower than the video.

For instance, this could sound like "hi my name // name is Charles" where the extra word ("name") makes the whole video offsync.

What I do to resync it is pause the video for a few seconds and unpause it. Then after a few more min, the audio goes offsync again. The computer itself isn't laggy at all, but just video and audio playback.

I have looked at my Monitor and it would show like:
8gb phys memory
7.99 Memory Used
8gb virtual memory
Memory Pressure: Green

I also have parallels running with only mIRC running on it.

Anyone know why this happens? I was assuming it has to do with virtual memory since other forums have said that "Memory Used" is not a good measure to look at, and that if Memory Pressure is Green, then it's okay.

Why I think it has to do with Virtual Memory:
I used the Memory Clean app to get "Memory Used" down to like 5 or 6gb RAM, but then virtual memory increases beyond the 8gb (it went to 8.32gb Virtual memory for me). When this happens, each time I play a video, the audio always lags in timing, and the whole video gets off sync.
