Good morning!

I am wondering if any one can help. All I want to do is have my mac start up at a certain time (got that sorted in power system prefs) and automatically start playing the bbc news channel.

Any ideas on how I can get that to work??

Cheers guys!

Hi,

Not sure what you mean by 'start playing the BBC News Channel'. Do you go to web page for this, or is it in iTunes or the BBC iPlayer?

If it's a web page or iTunes then you could probably write a very simple applescript and add it to your login items (System Preferences>Users & Groups). I don't think iPlayer is scriptable though.

Hope that's of some help,

Rob

I should have mentioned that there are other ways of scheduling applescripts (apart from having them execute at login) including via iCal, cron and LaunchAgents. The latter two are quite technical, but iCal should be quite easy.

Putting an Applescript in your login items (Users and Groups) that fires up BBC should do the job.
