.mac and MSN... not working anymore?

I'm not sure what the deal is with this, but I received a notification that forced me to change my email address, so now I can't use my @mac.com address for MSN, I have to use an @hotmail.co.uk one.

Whhhhhhhhhyy? Anyone else got this? The FAQ says that the company that owns the domain is reserving it for its own use.

I don't mind it so much, except that now non of my contacts show up as online on MSN, with the new address.

Anyone else got this?
