We are a school, and we have just brought 25 new MacBooks, the MacBooks sit in 2 trolleys and connect to the network via a Airport Base Station on the Trolley. The Macs are connected to our Active Directory so users (Students can login).
Here is where the problem Lies. The way our Server structure is setup is:
Server\Students$\08\username
The sharepoint is the Students$ and 08 reffers to their yeargroup.
A login script has been created to connect to the share, therefore a drive is mapped on the users desktop called students, the students then haved to browse to their folder i.e find 08, and find their username. They can only access the folder that they have access to on the wondows domain (their username) however half of the problem is them being able to see the structure of the netwrok, thus making it more prone to attacks!!
Is there any way of mapping 2 Subfolders down from the share so that they only get their username mapped on the desktop?
Any Help / ideas would be much appreciated!!
