mac annoyances: drag/drop files in order

ranting out a small annoying problem i've had with finder and items.

when dragging and dropping files of order into another app ie. making an automator and drag/drop a list of files to be renamed sequentially, they always appear in random, and you have to manually move items up and down.
same thing happens when drag/drop items into preview to be in order of what is the same as finder list:mad: is there some way?
