The Mac App Store and the Apple Books are both having issues at this time, according to Apple's System Status page. There are no specific details on what the outage entails, as Apple only says that some users are experiencing a problem with the services.

Apple says that the outages started at 12:15 p.m. Eastern Time. Only some users are affected, so not all users will see problems with the Mac App Store or Apple Books.

Update: Apple says that the outage was fixed as of 2:40 p.m. Eastern Time.

A billion-dollar company that now has an outage every month. Something incredible.

A billion-dollar company that adds more to their arsenal every year. Have you seen their Status page? I think their track record is pretty incredible!

I’m not sure that’s the flex you were going for? With all that money you’d think they would do better with SLAs.

I challenge you to provide actual fact based proof that Apple has had an outage every month from January 2023-August 2024, or admit your statement is something you dreamed up.
It's not every month, but it is pretty often as I noted back in May. And those are just the ones MR bothered to post about.

So we've had an outage every month since April 2024 outage

May 2024 outage:

June 2024 outage:

July 2024 outage:

August 2024 outage (today's):

The only month in 2024 that saw no outage was for March. Will we see an outage in September?

What's amazing about it? It's just a boring bog-standard ebook store. I just borrow them from my Library for free instead.

Plus Apple has no e-ink options.

MS measures their outages by the hour. An outage even once a month isn't a big deal.

I couldn't agree more with this statement.
Apple was found guilty in an ebook price fixing scheme in 2013. You are a fool if you continue to buy ebooks from apple.
But if you like over paying, Tim doesn't mind.

Damn, amazingly, even Microsoft and Google have a better track record. Yes, the latest crowd strike was not a Microsoft direct outage and doesn't count. It is due to the poor system design required by the EU though.
