I've found a slightly odd behaviour. The situation is I have a MacBook and an iMac, and I wanted to upgrade both to Lion. What I did was D/L the installer from the app store on one, then when it ran, quit the installer, and copied the app from the applications folder on the iMac to the applications folder on the MacBook (to save having to download another 4GB). I then ran it on the MacBook, and it installed correctly. I then noticed that the iWork apps had an update (I bought them via the App store on the MacBook, and installed them on both machines under 10.6.8 via the app store). All was well, so I then repeated the procedure on the iMac. All looked well, but then I went to the app store to install the iWork updates. I had another update (a program not not the MacBook, that I bought when logged in on the iMac).
So here is where it started to look strange. The updates page icon on the window's toolbar only showed 1 update available (the app I had bought on the iMac), but the Purchased tab showed all 4 having "update" offered. So after the first app updated, I clicked "update" on Keynote, and I got the error message "this apps was bought on a different account" or something like that. I went to the store > view my account (enter account details), then went to manage devices. What was odd was only the MacBook was listed, not the iMac (my iPad was also there, but not my iPhone). I logged out of the store on the iMac, and logged back in again, whereupon it allowed me to update iWork correctly, but still only the MacBook and iPad appear on the devices list.
Anyone know what's going on here?
Edit:
It appears this list is populated by devices that have had "automatic downloads" enabled in the iTunes app store (I have no idea how to enable it via the Mac App store, though). I've now added the missing devices to the list. It seems this is yet another reason to unify the Mac App store and the iTunes store in a single UI (and remove it from iTunes)
