Hi All,

Looking forward to the Mac App store partly because it will help manage all the free applications that I have downloaded... keeping them all updated etc.

Does this however change the use of the 'Software Update' option on the system or will them be combined? Any views?

Good question. I would expect iTunes etc to be updated via the App Store, and then the OS to be updated by the Software Update button, seen as it isn't really an app :)

no.
software update is for system updates
the app store will replace part of the updates software update does, namely apps like iwork, ilife, logic etc.

So if like me you already own iWorks I guess they are going to have to maintain application updated via 'software updates' also!?

What I'm wondering is if I can just buy iLife 11 via the Mac app store. If that's the case then I won't bother ordering a silly disc that will then collect dust. Although, after reading some reviews on here I'm wondering if I should even upgrade... iLife 09 is working wonderfully right now.
