Mac app that minimizes to the desktop

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anybody knows of a program or script that will minimise active windows not to the dock but to a thumbnail on the desktop?

I would use it in conjunction with Bumptop so that I could hide the dock entirely and have open applications just sit on my desktop, only a click away.

Anyone know of such an animal?

You could use WindowShadeX to do just what you want. It has a Minimize-In-Place feature that will minimize the app to a small icon on the desktop. The icon even live updates. It is a really cool app with many other features too.

It's not officially Snow Leopard compatible yet but there is a beta version available that is.
