Mac as Wireless Adapter?

I have an Xbox 360, which I recently moved out of the same room as my router. Prior to this move, it used to get it's Xbox Live connection through a direct connection from the router. I don't have a wireless adapter, but I was wondering: through internet sharing, can I use my MacBook to get my 360 to connect to the internet? The only thing I've tried thus far, is to simply connect the two with ethernet and see if DHCP would work at all.
