I´ve ordered the 15", 2,6 GHz, 512 MB, 16GB version and vondering if I should cancel and order the 32GB instead. I use the machine mainly for images and Final Cut Pro. Not very much multitasking. So, two questions for you clever guys! 1. Will Final Cut Pro gain much from the additional 16GB? 2. When will the 32GB be substantial beneficial over the 16GB?

i also ordered a 15", 2.6 GHz, 512 MB, 16GB model just minutes ago and teetered back and forth on 16GB or 32GB. i ended up deciding on the 16GB model because i wont really use it any video editing. mostly illustrator and photoshop. if i were working with video it would have made the decision harder, but i probably would have opted for the 32GB.

I plan on getting the 32GB when I order. 1) Because I want to keep the machine for 5 years... and I figure during that amount of time 32GB will serve longer than 16GB.

I do professional video and photography and use the Abode Creative Suite daily

Thanks for answers. I will stick with the 16GB order. I think it will be sufficient for my usage based on what I've read. The SSD is so ridiculous fast that it can almost replace memory when memory is full ...

Good decision. I’m very skeptical 32GB will be necessary for general future proofing. If you don’t need 32 now and your use case doesn’t change over 5 years I expect 16 to be plenty of RAM throughout ownership.
