Mac Book Keyboard locking??

sorry newbie question my new mac book will sometimes lock the keyboard totally!! Am I locking it myself by pressing buttons that i don't know about or is it a fault with the Mac Book

Have you applied the Macbook/MBP keyboard update? Apple released an update about 2 weeks ago addressing this exact problem.

I think this is a software update if I remember correctly.

Click on the Apple upper left.
Click on Software Updates.
See if you see one that pertains to keyboard in there and install it.
In fact install any and all that are in there as it's always pretty much a good idea to keep up to date on everything.
