Mac Book Mini vs. 9" Dell Mini Inspiron

Hi,

I think when the rumored Mac Book Mini comes out, perhaps threads with a title similar to this one will be written.

The price for the Dell is $400 and something. I think a lot of people are expectant on the price the Mac Book Mini is going to have. I just hope it doesn't make a little hole in my pocket.

I can't picture Apple selling at the $400 price point. If it's a 'netbook' it will be more like $700.

$400 fat chance. Even the priciest ipod touch is more expensive. I think we'll be looking at somewhere between 800-900. Or they might surprise us with macbook air pricing.

$700 may be a tad too expensive, but it all depends.

I checked prices again on the Dell, and the 12" is
$499

Or, you could get a 12" g4 ibook or powerbook, max the ram out, and have a usable ultra portable now. And for, I daresay, less money than what apple will charge for the rumored tablet.

An unsubsidized iPhone costs $999, according to my Rogers rep. I could see a MacBook net selling for around $700-800, but not any less than that. Not unless the theory that Apple will build in 3G and let AT&T subsidize it turns out to be true, anyway.
