Mac book pro beginner

A friend of mine has offered to sell me his macbook pro and i am considering it. However I know very little and have only had dell laptops in the past.

It is a 13'' duo core 2.4gh ddr3 ram with 320gb . He will also give me mac office. He is asking for €800.

Im wondering if this is worth the money as it is the duo core and my Dell has the i7 technology. To be honest I dont even know what this means. I just want a decent laptop that will not be slow and outdated in a year!
I would be using it for work-im a teacher.

Does it include Applecare 3 yr?

Is office retail boxed or atleast w/ legitimate serial?

If no to either then no. Apple sells refurbished model for approx ~180 bucks less on us refurbed site, but theirs includes full warranty.

over priced best advice is that if you want the 2010 model is to go on
Apples refurbished site and at least you get a machine with any problems
fixed and you get an 1 year Apple warranty or pay £ 200 more and get
a faster macine.

Not much of a "friend" at the price. I'd hate to see what he'd ask for it if you didn't know the guy.
