Hi
I am wondering whats the best and easier way to connect my early 2008 macbook pro to a TV for visuals and sound.
i had tried hdmi (TV port) to a dvi i think, which worked through mirroring really well,
and had sound through the microphone port with RCA to the tv, for some reason the sound no longer work... may be the cable has died!
are there other options
cheers for any ideas

Since you only have a DVI output, you are limited to DVI-to-whatever-your-TV-has-for-inputs adapters.
As for audio, can you test a different cable?
Also check System Preferences > Sound > Output or OPTION/Alt click the sound/volume icon in the Menu Bar and tell us, what is listed and checked as Output Device when the audio cable (what exact cable) is connected.
