I'm really new with mac products especially my new machine
Mac Book Pro.

Using it for almost 4 weeks now and realize the machine
heat more than my old machine ( I used to have sony vaio ).

I heard about this problem before,is there anyway that could
reduce the heat ? software or something ?

thanks :)

You could try buying a laptop cooler, or like me, take an fan from an old computer and hook it up to a USB plug and have that blowing across your keyboard.

You could also try placing your laptop on a conductive surface, i.e. NOT a blanket/Bed/carpet.

Or you could downloa smcFanControl which lets you manually controll the speed of your fans. This would make your laptop more noisy, but cooler.

I'm a big fan of cooling stands. I use my 17" at work and home. When at work, it sits on a cooling stand, which is usb powered. Noise with the fans, but it keeps the computer nice and cool. I don't use it at home, though.

xander, can you describe how you set that fan up and how it works with usb? I am interested.
