Hi,

I am just about to purchase a Mac book for the first time!!! :)

I don't know what to do... get the mac book Pro i7 13 inch or the Mac book Air i7 13 inch.#

I still use CD'S
I use illistrator...
I will be using the UK student discount. ]

PLEASE HELP.

If you use CDs, then the Macbook Pro it is.

The Air has no CD/DVD drive. Therefore, you can't use CDs with it (Without an external drive, of course).

Is there a specific reason that you want the MBA instead of the MacBook Pro.

It looks good and very portable but are these important?

I never use discs and I really value portability and sex-factor, so for me the Air is perfect.

Sounds like you need the MBP.

Thanks for all the comments,

The only thing that worries me is not being able to watch my Buffy collection.

Air- Brand new really current, had lion

Pro- I'm not sure it ships with lion (I know I can download for free) its just that i also have seen some of the keys are different, I dont want to be stuck in the dark ages next year when everyone else has there new shinnny mac book.

Yep, looks like they're being shipped with Lion, so if that's your greatest concern with the MBP, you should be fine. As others have mentioned, the MBA comes without a disk drive, so you won't be able to read cds on it.

Seems to me like the choice is pretty clear, and your fears that the MBP will be "outdated" is largely irrational.
