R rkolling macrumors newbie Original poster Oct 12, 2009 5 0 Illinois Oct 12, 2009 #1 I have a Macbook Pro laptop and sometimes it just shuts down for no apparent reason. I have never been using it when it does this, so it may be because of overheating. Any suggestions?

Sheeds macrumors member Sep 15, 2008 84 1 Ottawa Oct 15, 2009 #2 If it IS overheating, install Fan Control http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/23137 It will show up in your System Preferences, and you can set it to have a higher minimum rpm and other things.
