Mac Book Pro so slow

Can anyone help me out? It has been running so slow since I updated software on apple site, takes ages to open pages/pics etc, driving me crazy

You have given very little information...not every MacBook Pro is the same, please tell us your specs etc, and did this occur after installing a new app, have you ran disk permissions etc?
