I have a windows and mac partition on 1 HD and I was wondering is there a way to make it automaticly go to the boot selection screen? Also when I leave it and don't do anything, it boots into a screen saying please insert a windows install disk.

Using Apple's bootloader, no. However, there is a very nice 3rd party bootloader called rEFIt (refit.sourceforge.net) that you install on the Mac side that will give you a very nice screen (Different images for different OSes and media)

+1

I used rEFIt when I installed Ubuntu Linux onto my MacBook and it works like a charm.
