I just installed Ubuntu 11.04 (32-bit, Desktop) onto an older laptop to set up a file server for my house. From the command line, I created users and share folders and manually edited the smb.conf file.
I can connect to every one of these shares using each share & username/password combination just fine from Windows 7. I can also connect to them using smbclient in Terminal. But if I try to use the Finder and Command-K to connect, I get an error saying "Invalid username or password" -- and I am sure the username and password are correct. This Mac is running OS 10.6.7.
Any ideas what I can try next?
