Sometimes (not always) when i wake my mac from sleep (open the lid).
And plug my cinema display into it (it seems that this may be part of the problem).
I get the blue screen (which usually comes up when connecting an external display) then it turns black and i get the spinning ball.
It wont go away and i need to restart.
If i unplug the display, i get the blue screen and then the spinning ball again, but now the ball flickers and looks like an old analogue TV that needs tuning.
