hey there, this is my first post on this forum and it's actually on behalf of a friend of mine who isn't very technologically savvy.

Here's what happened, she has a macbook pro approx 1.5 years old running osx4.11

she has successfully been syncing this computer with another one for quite some time. about a week ago, she began receiving .mac popups (which she's never received). the popups were informing her that .mac wanted to "add 0, delete 0, and modify 759 contacts".

after a few days of denying the request, she allowed, and her address book was wiped clean.

Well, not exactly wiped clean...all the contact files (names) remain, but the contact's information was lost

Here's the rundown:
newly added contacts retained all their informatio
older contacts lost all their information
older contacts retained their recently changed information
all custom fields retained their information

can someone help me help my friend find out a) what happened and b) how to restore her contacts?

thanks so much, and happy thanksgiving.
