I just purchased AirDisplay (the iPad app you can use to extend your monitor onto the iPad like a second screen via wi-fi). AirDisplay worked great when I was out and about but when I got home I noticed that my Air was not working in clamshell mode with my external monitor. (I keep the Air in a BookArc w/ external monitor while at home).

I figured out that my Air screen was staying on, even in Clamshell mode. It seems that there is some issue with AirDisplay and Clamshell mode. I uninstalled AirDisplay and everything went back to normal.

After emailing AirDisplay support they stated that it was a bug with Apple's display driver when apps use third-party drivers to work with the display. He said they have submitted the bug multiple times to Apple and they keep hoping there will be a fix. He also said they are not the only third-party app maker that is having this issue.

I know how awful Apple's track record is when it comes to display drivers in general (Steam, gaming)... but does anyone else have this problem and have an effective work around? I really need to be able to use AirDisplay for work but also given my setup at home it's not an option to have an off window screen that I can't see (because of certain apps).

Anyone else who has had this issue, would love to hear from you! I'm not holding my breath for a fix from Apple until at least ML... /sigh
