For some reason I recall my mac being able to do simple math when typed into a text field using a shortcut key.... however I dont remember how to do it. Basically you would type is 32+62 and then it would automatically change it to the answer. Does anyone know how to do this or am I thinking of something my Vista comp does?

The google search bar text field would do it also (and is useful for unit conversions too)

Cmd-Space brings up Spotlight, just type it in, no "=" required. If you hit enter, it launches Calculator.

Used to be Shift-Command-8 to do MATHS :p

Can also type in : say "say something funny" press shift-command-8 and it would speak it out loud :)

Not used it in years, might still work.
