Mac doesn't sleep automatically

Just out of the blue my Mac won't sleep automatically.

I can force it to sleep using the hardware button on the mac of the Mac.

When I don't the screen turns off, but the Mac is still very much awake.

Is there any advice you can offer to find the culprit of whats happening here?
