Hi everyone. My MAC laptop is duplicating images ONLY in different names. What could be doing this? And how can I fix this. In the past week I've had possibly at least 20 copies each of my 500 odd pictures. I am sick of deleting them as they seem to reappearing even after deleting. Have already tried iPhoto - doesn't work. Please help!!

MAC duplicating pictures automatically. Fix?

They go into random folders, not one particular folder - therefore all over the place.
No imports - these are pictures taken off Skype. Have already deleted all of them the other day and randomly started reappearing again.
And in what folders do the appear? Can you tell us the full paths of some of them?
As above, they are appearing in random folders. It is not just one, but plenty in different folders.

"Full paths" are the location of the files, like "Macintosh HD / Users / YOU / Pictures / Skype / Photo_123.jpg" and so on.
The full path can be seen via the "Show Path Bar" menu item:
And to be sure, you don't use the "SEARCH FOR" smart folders section, where you see the duplicates?
