Mac equivalent to 'Picture it'

I'm getting a Mac mini for my neighbor for Christmas. The main application she uses on her pc is 'Picture It'. I'm guessing the program is for making greeting cards, altering pictures ... etc. Any familiar with it and reccommend a Mac equivalent?

It's microsoft's software. It's not that impressive but she likes it (I think because she hasn't tried anything else).

The closest thing to Microsoft Picture It! would be Adobe Photo Elements

The "altering of pictures" part can be done with the Mac version of Picture It, but ask her exacly WHAT she needs it for. Elements and PE can be a cheap alternative, and a LOT cheaper.
