Hi all,

I recently saved some files und folders on my external hard drive and there seemed no problems. But now the data is somehow inaccesible. Within Finder folders are not represented by the folder icon any more which really concerns me a lot. When I click on an element on the external drive from which I know that it is a folder instead of opening the contents of it two windows pop up. One saying "The application can't be found" and the other "The operation can't be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -43)". Are my files and folders are now lost forever :( ?
In Disk Utility the format is MS-DOS (FAT32).

Yes, it says "Disk Utility stopped repairing "Volume". Could not unmount disk" :(

I did a chkdsk on a Windows machine.
But after plugged into my Mac again, trying to copy stuff to the external drive failed with "The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)"
Any suggestions are highly appreciated
