Hi guys,
I have been trying to setup my mac mini to share the public folder over the network so that it is visible to my windows pcs, and so that windows shared folders are visible on the mac.
I followed this guide:
http://lifehacker.com/software/mac-os-x/how-to-mount-a-windows-shared-folder-on-your-mac-247148.php
Now it seems to be working, but:
- In windows, when I open up the mac mini, it actually shows all the folders on the computer, i.e. Macintosh HD, as well as any mounted disks etc. However in the sharing panel I only have the Public folder selected. What gives? It doesnt seem very secure if the mac lets me access any file on the computer from a windows machine despite the settings. Anyone have a similar occurance and know of a solution?
Also, when acessing the mac from a windows computer, it doesnt ask me for a username or password. But when accessing a windows machine from the mac, it does
