Mac Folders Stacking On Top Of Each Other

When i open my Mac HD and try to open a folder, instead of it going directly to that folder it opens an existing folder (over lapsing my mac HD folder)

So now i have two folders or more and they keep stacking up on top of another as opposed to where you click on a folder and it goes directly to it.

so if i want into mac hd>user>music

i would have 3 folders open where i just want only one.

does anyone know how this can be fixed?

I can't really understand what you mean. But I think you use Column View and want to use List View or Icon View. Just click on the 1st or 2nd icon here:

I'm pretty sure he means that every time he opens a folder, it opens in a new window.

Try looking at Finder's preferences and see if "Always open folders in a new window" is checked.
