Hi, this problem had bother me quite some times but my macbook pro is still working fine which make me doubt if my mac is broken or not. My macbook started to run slow ever since Yosemite, the bootup is extremely slow and apps crashed sometime. Sometime i even get this weird rainbow-like screen freeze but only for a few seconds then my mac continue to work fine. I also noticed that when i watch videos on VLC, i got this choppy grey screen freeze in VLC which really ruin the movie fun. This happened many times so i did a memtest on the ram to check if i got bad ram but it turned out my ram are working fine. Can anyone tell me if any parts in my MBP 15' Mid-2012 is broken. I got 2.3 GHz i7 with 4 GB original ram running Yosemite, Thanks!

I'd recommend running the Apple Hardware Test, and/or taking it into Apple for them to look at. Crashing and seeing odd colors may be a sign of a failing GPU which may account for some of your symptoms.
