Not sure if this is the right place to post this but...

I've been offered a Mac G5 tower for $30, just needs an OS. I was just curious as to whether it'd be of any use. The specs are unknown other than it has a 400gb HDD.
I had thought about putting it in my basement and using it to stream Netflix, movies and YouTube videos. Not knowing much about it or the older Macs in general I figured I would post here in hopes someone could help it out.

Would it be able to handle streaming videos to a 23" HD tv without any problems?

Thanks in advance!

If you want an OS that you will be able to install regardless of your G5 specs, pick Leopard.

Netflix won't work on a PowerPC Mac. And video decoding solely relies on the CPU so the G5 might get noisy when doing this.
