Hi, this is my 1st time posting here, but i read here all the time for many answers regarding my old 10.5.(6?) mac book. I however seem to have an issue with connecting to the internet, i jump from school to my home network a lot and recently i can not connect at home, i open the network settings and it says the Ethernet cable is in, but everything else is red (off) and i cant fix it? help please, i really don't want to have to go back and use windows,
[[part2]] i have been a long time, and i mean since windows '98 user. The recent changes to the software and the stability issues have finally out-weighed the pros of picking a windows over a mac, question is, whats the best pick for my money, the desktop 12 core looks awesome, but at 5G's its a bit out of my price range. What are some good mac books or desktops that are fairly decent in price, and can run such games as portal 2, garry's mod, and counter strike?

Sorry for my terrible grammar and spelling, i got use to the mac keyboard and using this one is awkward now
