Hello all,
Newb here.
I have had a 09 macbook 10.6.4 osx dual intel for the last year with no problems. Just in the last week I have gotten a usb broadband modem (of which I have used similar devices on this machine w/o problems) and been surfing, and downloading... And now I get the grey reboot screen intermittently it seems to happen while using firefox and gmail. I figured to update everything and i thought it was finished. But it still crashed. I have downloaded ClamXav and have no known virus. Now I have switched to Safari and so far *fingers crossed* haven't crashed since. 30 mins so far... Any help, comments, concerns...
If it happens again im this close to wiping the HD...

It's a Kernel Panic, if the following message appears on your screen:

What happens, if you use another modem? Or have you added any other hardware to your system? Does the modem come with drivers? How is it connected?

Btw, it is not a virus or malware.
