I opened my HD and saw that my sidebar no longer displays anything of value!

All sub folders/files that generally appear under the three main headings (devices, places, search for) have mysteriously disappeared...:eek:

Not even the "So and So's Mac" appears....

Has my computer been compromised?? Have I accidentally deleted some important setting/file that would cause this? Any thoughts at all?

I checked my finder preferences and the "Sidebar" tab has all the devices, shared, places, and search for items checked off to be displayed... Someone had suggested clicking/unclicking all boxes - tried that also, but to no avail.

I also created a new account on my computer to see if the sidebar would function properly on a new user's account and found that on the new account the sidebar works just fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
